Spent the weekend in LA visiting a friend after driving up from San Diego, and on my way home I ended up with a flat front 225/40R19 tire. As I quickly discovered, it’s apparently not the easiest tire size to find. I stopped at Discount Tire in Downey and was greeted by Chris. They didn’t have the tire I needed in stock, but instead of simply telling me I was out of luck, Chris immediately offered a solution: they could have the correct tire Uber-delivered to the shop at no additional charge. The price for the replacement tire, including tax and installation, was already fantastic, so I was thrilled with the offer. Expecting to be there for 2+ hours, I grabbed an Uber to the nearest 24 Hour Fitness to get a workout in while they handled the car. To my surprise, Chris called me within 90 minutes to let me know everything was finished! Despite the shop being busy and not having my tire in stock, Chris was professional, courteous, welcoming, and incredibly efficient. He found a solution immediately, had the tire delivered, and got me back on the road in about 90 minutes — all at a fantastic price. The shop itself was also clean and comfortable, with great AC on an absolutely scorching day and a clean restroom for customers. 10/10 experience. I cannot recommend Discount Tire in Downey — and Chris in particular — highly enough. They turned what could have been a miserable end to my weekend into a surprisingly painless experience.

Quick and efficient when replacing a blown tire.

Richard was very kind in the front and offered some nice trinkets and conversation after a difficult series of events that resulted in me going to the Whittier Discount Tires location. Really great, friendly service. I came in with a screw stuck in my tire. They took me in on a Saturday and got me out withing about 90 minutes. They patched the leak at no charge. I checked the price of replacement cost of the tires and they were about $80 less per tire than I was quoted at another tire shop. Highly recommended. I will be back... Thank you!

Oil change and tire rotation. Tom and John are always attentive to concerns and explain why a certain service is needed on your vehicle. Prices are reasonable,too!

This place is pretty cool, I’m not from the area, however I got a pretty sweet deal on these Blackhawk tires , back home my local dead hip would have charge me $770 for new tires , but the same ones you get from a dealership when you first get a vehicle I go to this place and they did one hell of a job, plus the alignment no my car is safer on the road , now I can travel without worry…. Until the next tire change lol anyways shout to discount tire in Irvine!!

I'm regularly back when I need something done that they offer, especially if a dealer messes something up after a service. They're very busy because their service and workmanship is so high quality.

Had a great experience at Discount Tire Center in Irvine. I believe I was assisted by one of the store managers. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The team that replaced my tires were super kind and looked out for potential issues. They actually spotted that the bolt securing one of the upper control arms was stripped and coming out which I never would have noticed had they not caught it. They really could’ve saved my life! Thanks team????

Last year I purchased new tires, it came with 4 free oil changes and I’d get the coupons in the mail. I truthfully didn’t think I’d get them, just because I thought I’d be another number in their system, but a few weeks later - bam, all 4. I’ve used two of them already and today I used my third. It was expired, and when I booked, I asked if it would be ok if I used it anyway - and I was told I could. Score. I had an appointment but I was early, so the line of 4 people wasn’t a big deal, a golf game was on. I don’t give a dang thing about golf, but it was on, so then I started to get pumped about when the players did well haha. It was my turn, I shared I had an appointment, and the coupon thing - Angel said yep, no problem. He ran to my car to get my plate # and mileage and was right back in. He shared the oil change options and told me it would be a little over an hour - I told him no big deal, I planned to wait for my car to be ready. I watched some more golf, then it turned into an infomercial, but I didn’t want to be a jerk and ask them to change it, so I learned a lot about a magic pill that’ll keep away dementia. Fancy. I mosey’d to the store next door, and they called to let me know it was complete - I said I’d be right there. I walked in - no line! Woo! Angel let me know everything went great, the service was complete, tires rotated and all the inspections they do for an oil change service. Then he handed me my invoice to sign for $0.00 and I was shocked. No extra xyz, no extra ‘the service was more than the value of the coupon’ blah blah blah. Yes I had bought tires the year before, yes I “paid for the coupons in the price of my tires” sure. But a dude in the 90° heat just crawled under my car to do an oil change and rotate my tires and he got paid, but nothing came out of my pocket and it was no sweat off my back. I was just thankful. He showed me the summary and let me know the next probably upcoming maintenance I may need just to plan, based on the mileage in my car. He asked me if I’ve ever had ABC inspection, I told him I had no idea I’d have to go check my paperwork at home. He said he could pull my CarFax for me to see all the registered services on my car since forever. He asked if I had time, I said I do - and we went over the freaking CarFax! He saw what was done, told me good XYZ was done earlier this year so focus on these 123 things, but mainly this one, for the future. I was shocked, stunned, so thankful, I felt so informed - and not sold. I’m sold now - and I WILL be calling him back when I need help. What a freaking guy - caring about helping people, providing resources, showing me information about my car because he has the resources and he’s using them to MY benefit. Since I previously bought tires, he showed me another resource - just in case I need to get towed. What the heck. I hope he sees this, I hope his boss and his family sees this. My dad is a mechanic but lives in another state - so I hire people to do car things I don’t know how to. I felt like I was being treated the way my dad treated his customers - with knowledge, not a beef’d up bill. Thank you for caring and doing a damn good job, Angel.

I took a tire in for repair on a busy Saturday. Gary, and Darrell were the gentleman that helped me. Gary came out to my truck, retrieved the tire in question and transported it into their shop for me. They processed the paperwork quickly and managed to get me back on the road. Just a simple thing, but a friendly demeanor and speedy service is valuable and appreciated. Thanks you guys, and the technician. I'll see you for new tires when the time comes.

They were so amazing! I ran over a nail and luckily I brought it in 30 minutes before closing. They were able to diagnose and repair it in 20 minutes. They are friendly and offer great service!
